Princi
135 Wardour St, Soho, London W1F 0UT, UK
Claudio Silvestrin (2008)
Something a little different today. Small and simple, but clean and beautiful, with a façade that is carefully considered and cleanly detailed – and a great place to hang out for a coffee or a meal.
If you happen to be in London, in Soho, near Wardour Street, then have a look at Princi. After the success of the Princi in Milan, Claudio Silvestrin designed another in London. While there is an image of the design on his website, it is unclear whether he continued through the construction process.
Nevertheless, the design is neat and clever, and any place that has well-designed bathrooms is worth a look.
The interiors, from the brass covered tabletops, to the stone clad walls, to the water fountain along the wall, all evokes Italian memories.
The coffee, juice, breakfasts, pastries, pizza and pasta are all worth sticking around for as well!
